Awards Luncheon:
Included in your registration this year is an invitation to our Awards Luncheon where we will honor our award recipients. At the luncheon, we will hear from Paul Cuadros, author of "A Home on The Field"
Paul Cuadros moved south as a reporter for Time Magazine on assignment to study the impact of the burgeoning Latino community in North Carolina. Upon arriving in Siler City, NC, he encountered a culture clash between the Latino immigrant population and the local residents.
While Paul’s intentions were only to report on this issue, he became involved with the immigrant families in the town and is moved to make a difference. It became Paul's goal to show the growing numbers of Latino youth that their lives could be more than the cutting line at the poultry plants, that finishing high school and heading to college could be a reality. Come and enjoy hearing the inspiring stories of Cuadros and our award recipients as well.
